After marking the size and shape of the bezel on the plate, use a jewelers saw to cut out the plate. While it is possible to use sheers, they tend to bend the plate, making it harder to get a good contact between the bezel and the plate. Be sure to use a lubricant, like beeswax on the blade..it will cut easier and will last longer.
